PFL are the UK’s leading landscape creation service.  We specialise in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of high-quality outdoor spaces.

From our beginnings in 2005, our family run company has successfully grown to provide a broad range of services and has since expanded to form PFL Group in 2022.

From initial design consultation through to ongoing maintenance, our teams provide general landscaping construction for both commercial and private clients, as well as specialist playgrounds, outdoor fitness equipment and skate parks for local authorities, house builders and schools.

We believe that the best results come from tapping into talent from a wide range of specialities including Construction, Horticulture, Project Management, Health & Safety and Customer Service.

Our Team

Managing Director

Jason Shepherd

Degree qualified in construction with over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, having worked for several large developers before taking on the role of managing director at PFL Group.  He holds Directing Safely qualification as overall lead for health and safety.

Director of Corporate & Customer Experience

Donna Shepherd

Joined PFL in 2019 and has over 20 years’ experience in customer services. Her role is to ensure that processes and procedures are followed so that the organisation and its people remain safe in their work. Donna also leads on any customer issues to ensure they are dealt with as quickly as possible.

Business Development Director

Alex Balmer

Degree qualified Company Director, Alex joined PFL Group in 2015, and started as a playground installer to ensure he had hands on understanding of the company. Alex focuses on driving growth and delivering outstanding results for the company.

Commercial Director

James Wallett

Qualified from Pershore College of Horticulture. 32 years’ experience covering soft and hard landscaping projects to the value of £850k for developers. Director of Operations for 15 years running a £14m turnover play installation division, including podium installations, play areas, Sports England football pitches, MUGAs and surfacing. IOSH and RPII qualified.

Operations Director

John Clay

Joined PFL in 2024 with 25 years experience in the construction industry, specialising in operations and production. With his years of delivering major projects across the UK and internationally, John helps us ensure our clients needs and expectations are met through the keen support and guidance of our operational teams.

Project Coordinator

Karen Pomfret

Joined PFL in 2020, since then she has been promoted to co-ordinator of materials and equipment on all of our projects.  Karen supports the team and the customer once the order has been received to ensure all equipment has been ordered and is on site for the team to start their works and offers site support until the project has been completed.

Install Team

Our installation teams have decades of experience in everything relating to open spaces. They have all the relevant health and safety qualifications and are highly experienced from the setting out stage through to completion on site. The on-site teams work very well together and are ready to resolve any issues should they arise on site.
